18. What is your vaccine/Covid policy?
We’re proud of the safe and healthy camp programs that we’ve operated over the past two years. We maintained no reported cases of COVID-19 amongst our staff and campers during the summer of 2020 and 2021 as we continued to operate our camps. Our team has worked tirelessly to uphold our core value of placing safety at the top of our priorities.
Our organization has served as a leader in the return-to-play efforts: working with the California Department of Public Health, American Camp Association, Centers for Disease Control, and the Governor’s Office in developing the protocols and best-practices that have made the critical continuation of summer camps possible.
The below represents our expected protocol for summer 2022. Given how fluid recommendations and requirements have been, we’ll continue to update our guidelines based on local Health Department regulations and consultation both before and during the summer camp season.
Staff Vaccinations
We require all staff members to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
Camper Vaccinations
Not required
Health Screening
We will require parents to conduct a home health screening of their camper(s) each morning prior to departing for camp drop-off. If campers arrive at camp and exhibit any symptoms that are correlated with COVID-19, parents will be required to immediately pick-up their camper and return home for further instructions.
Masks
We expect that masks will not be required for staff and campers in summer 2022. We always respect and support, whole-heartedly, the decision of individual campers, families, and staff members to continue masking even when not required.
Capacities, Social Distance & Cleaning
Our small cohorts, expansive site plans, and rigorous cleaning and safety standards enabled us to transition to COVID-19 compliance without a hitch. We continue to maintain these protocols, maximize time outdoors and in fresh air, and remain attune to local Health Department Guidance as we provide our campers the much-needed return to normal.
